My First Kiss

This is the first single from Colorado electronic duo 3OH!3's third studio album, titled Streets of Gold. The song features pop singer Ke$ha.


Foreman discussed working with Ke$ha in an interview with UK's Channel 4 TV station: "What basically happened was, about two years ago, we were working on My First Kiss. I wrote the first tag line and we thought it would be cool if it was a guy and a girl response. The producer was working with Ke$ha at the time and brought it in. She was a little bit overly aggressive and a little bit crazy. For me, she's cool and she came straight from dodgeball practice and I just thought she was a kooky girl living in LA. But then her career jumped off and it's crazy listening to her music. Basically, the production and songs are her style. She asked us to work on Blah Blah Blah and it's been a good relationship. Whenever she's around, we hang out and it's cool to see her work."

Ice Cube has a new album out called I Am The West. It's dope, but nothing compares to the song/video below. That's some old school shit right there. It don't get much better than that. The funny thing is that the reason I am posting this video today had nothing to do with Cube's new album. It was because Jesus Christ sent the funniest tweet today:

Miracles

Norwegian Recycling has been producing mash-ups since 2007. The dude is super talented and has released a few compilation albums. He's also getting into the remix game, so he's gonna be popping up everywhere.

Mash-ups are one thing, but the video mash-up twist is something I am just amazed by. Enjoy the video after reading the introduction by Norwegian Recycling below:

My newest mashup "Miracles" is a pop-mashup which uses Bruno Mars' new single "Just The Way You Are" as the instrumental. I have used vocal-samples from 15 other pop-songs to construct new lyrics that evolves around the theme "Miracles". Many of my listeners compare my mixing style to Dj Earworms, with muliple sample sources and lyrical and melodic recontextualisation. No surprise since Dj Earworm was my greatest inspiration and influence when I started mashing 4 years ago. I always make youtube-videoes to go with my songs, because I want my music to be an visual experience as well (and it is much easier to promote). The mashup has already been well recieved by my facebookfans and youtube-subscribers, and the mashup-community.

Well...we all know the Foo Fighters by now. The funny thing is that somehow I had managed to miss ever seeing the video until today. Funny huh?

Mark Pellington directed the video. He is known for also directing the video for Pearl Jam's "Jeremy." Some similarities between those two videos, I think.
