“Optimism is a slippery slope,” says Matthew Stolarz, singer/bassist of the Active Set, “You write something positive and people are so quick to dismiss you as unrealistic, or they think you’re a Christian band or some other nonsense. But it’s not all I write. There’s a lot of screwed up relationship songs too. But I wanted to make sure I got this communication out, as it’s an important one to me.”
